- Church Office Closed this Friday, 7/3 - In observance of Independence Day, the church office will be closed Friday, July 3.
- Church Untucked is Underway - The series, “Minor Prophets – Major Lessons” has begun. Be sure to pick up some Church Untucked cards and invite your friends, family, and acquaintances who do not attend a Bible Fellowship class. This is a more casual atmosphere! We have a competition all through the summer and encourage all our Bible Fellowship classes to invite at least 2026 people. The class that invites the most people at the end of summer will win a prize!
- Crossings Camp at Jonathan Creek 7/2 - 7/6 - Pray our students have a life-changing God-sized experience!
- 4th of July Shelbyville Independence Day Parade is this Saturday, 7/4 at 9:15 a.m. - Looking for a fun way to help welcome our community to First Baptist Church? Join us as we participate in the Shelbyville 4th of July Parade! We'll be handing out candy and invitation cards, sharing live music from our float, and connecting with families along the parade route. It's a great opportunity to represent our church and invite others to be part of what God is doing at SFBC. If you'd like to join us, meet in the church back parking lot by and we'll get you set up!
- First Family is this Sunday 7/5 - On this first Sunday of the month, although we are not having the Lord's Supper, families will still stay together during the worship service. Worship care will still meet in their area but there will be no Rock for children. We will enjoy donuts and coffee in the Fellowship Hall after Bible Fellowship from 10:00 – 10:20 and then go to the Sanctuary together.
- Patriotic Potluck and Celebration is this Sunday, 7/5 - We will enjoy a potluck dinner after the service in the Fellowship Hall and then will return to the worship center to enjoy a patriot program. Sign up to bring a side dish in your Bible Fellowship class or by clicking here.
- New Church Window Stickers Available - Every stoplight can be an invitation. - New Shelbyville First Baptist Church – A Place to Call Home window stickers are now available in the church office! Display one on your vehicle as a simple way to let others know about our church. You never know who may be looking for a church home while sitting behind you at a stoplight or in a parking lot. - Come Make a Difference - Our Worship Care & The Rock children's ministry is looking for caring, enthusiastic volunteers to help minister to children during the worship service. It's more than childcare—it's an opportunity to show the love of Jesus, build relationships with families, and invest in the next generation. We'd love to have you join our team! Contact the church office to learn more and begin the process of serving in this rewarding ministry.
- Friends Together Picnic - Thursday, July 9 at 11:30 a.m. - Come join the Friends Together group as we get together for a catered meal, warm fellowship and a special program at the Hedden Family Farm. The picnic will be in the air conditioned barn-dominium at the Hedden Family Farm. You can meet there or meet at the church and ride the church van or carpool. - Lord's Supper - Sunday, 7/12 - This month's partaking of the Lord's Supper will be on Sunday, 7/12.
- CentriKid Letters - If you would like to encourage our kids while they're at camp by writing letters, please let us know. See Chad, call the church office at 502-633-1317, or email and we will give you the list of kids who are attending camp. You can drop the cards off in the Children's Check-in Area by Sunday, July 12.
- ALC Baby Bottles - Please return any ALC baby bottles you still have, even if they're empty so we can get them back to ALC.
- Prayer Meeting - July 26 from 5 - 6 p.m. (the 4th Sunday evening of each month)

- First Responders Annual Event August 29-30 - Shelbyville First Baptist will be honoring First Responders again at our annual event. We are asking our Bible Fellowship members to support this event by creating baskets, sharing gifts, or providing gift cards. If you prefer to donate cash, we have team members who will be glad to shop for gifts. Your generosity is a wonderful way to show our responders how much we appreciate them. Please help us make this year even more successful than it has been in the past.

Children's Ministry

- CentriKid Summer Camp - Our summer camp for 3rd - 6th Grade is July 13 - 17, at Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, KY. What is CentriKid? From their website, "CentriKid Camps is an overnight camp for church groups to bring 2nd–6th graders to experience the time of their lives and learn more about the message of Jesus Christ!" - American Heritage Girls - Will resume in the fall. AHG is a Christ-centered, character and leadership development program for young girls ages 5 - 8 years. AHG meetings are led by Jessi Brown and Angie Brown on the first and third Thursdays of each month. Check the events page for dates. Join them in the Fellowship Hall.
Student Ministry

Crossings Camp at Jonathan Creek - Thursday, July 2 - Monday, July 6 - At Crossings, our students will have a Gospel saturated week. From the Crossings website, "We believe that making space to deliberately focus on your relationship with God creates the opportunity for powerful life change. That’s why we create an intentional environment without normal distractions of daily life and deliberately infuse the gospel into every detail of your group’s experience." Men's Ministry
- Men’s Bible Study - Saturdays at 8 a.m. - Mike Fackler leads the foretelling book of Revelation in the Fellowship Hall. We hope you come and join us.
- Men’s Morning Bible Study - Tuesdays at 8 a.m. at Cracker Barrel - This dedicated Men’s Bible study group continues their breakfast meetings. Guests are welcome!
Women's Ministry
- Summer Sisters - Summer Sisters is an opportunity to meet and get to know fellow First Baptist ladies. Those who registered have been placed with a small group of other ladies so they can get better acquainted. Groups meet in fellowship once a month in June, July, and August. Each group decides how that looks whether it's meeting for lunch, dinner, dessert, coffee, etc.
Worship Ministry
- Worship Choir - "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!" We invite you to join us as we lift our voices in song on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Suite. If you would like to be a part of our praise team, please call Pastor Martin, 502-633-1317.
MidWeek
- Serve Night - Wednesday, July 22 - More details to come.
- Hope Group will resume in the fall - We meet in the 2nd floor conference room. The Hope Group is a Christian-based group for adults age 18 and up which will focus on Biblical principles while providing a safe, non-judgmental space to validate emotions, share personal stories, and learn coping strategies. Key objectives include normalizing the varied experiences of recovery from personal life stressors, fostering a community of support to reduce isolation, and help members find ways to bring acceptance to their situation while navigating difficult life changes.
Missions/Ministry
- Mary Sampson WMU - Next Meeting is Tuesday, July 7 at 10:00 a.m. - Our Mary Sampson WMU meets the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am in the Barrett Bible Fellowship classroom. Come be a part of learning about missions and how missions impacts so many across the globe.
- The Sending Table Next Event will be VBS with Irishtown Ministries in Lexington, KY on 7/27 from 1-4 p.m. - The Sending Table is a group at Shelbyville FBC led by Charity Taylor. This group is learning about how Southern Baptist Missions are impacting the Kingdom and is experiencing missions as a church through giving, praying, and going. You are welcome to join us for our next meeting in the Fellowship Hall.
- Blessing Box Ministry - CURRENT NEEDS - TUNA, CANNED CHICKEN, SPAM, SOUPS, RAMEN, CEREAL BARS - We have two Blessing Boxes. One is for food items and the other for items such as toiletries, blankets, jackets, hats and gloves. You may bring your contributions and place them in the wheelbarrow located at the office entrance. (If you drop off your contributions anywhere else we are unable to get a count of them.) Thank you for your support of this invaluable ministry!
- Bible Study Fellowship - Will resume in the fall. BSF is an international organization for women with participants from all ages from all around the world. The new study will be Romans: From Guilt to Grace. The leader is Laura Lyon. Call the church office if you would like to know more about BSF or go to bsfinternational.org.
- Support Missions - You can support missions while shopping at Kroger! SFBC can earn rewards from Kroger at the same time you earn your rewards and it's free! You can enroll easily. The funds received by SFBC are split between Sunrise Children's Services, Oneida Baptist Institute, and Clear Creek Bible College.
